Atma is immortal

Krishna says nothing is permanent in this world. Every jeevatma has to leave his body and continue his further journey. A hunter named Jara unknowing hit Krishna’s foot thinking it is deer’s face. Jara later confessed the Lord. Jara calls himself as the most sinful person himself. Oh master! in ignorance I wronged you. Lord Krishna says, “my dear Jara, please get up. Do not fear. It’s my own desire to put an end to this life”. Thus on his own will supreme power departed to his abode.
