The Supreme one is described in the holy scriptures as having lotus eyes. He is referred as “Pundareekaksha” “Rajeevalochana” “Padmapatra jalajaksha”,”Kanjalochana” and so on. The ultimate symbol of beauty in this material world is probably the lotus flower. Mostly it is used as s simile. It’s colorful bloom is an obvious suspect. With its roots based in mud, it submerges every night into murky river water and undeterred by its dirty environment it miraculously re-blooms the next morning without residue on its petals. Lord Krishna says: Undoubtedly, O Arjuna, the mind is restless and difficult to restrain, but it is subdued by any constant vigorous spiritual practice — such as meditation — with perseverance, and by detachment, O Arjuna. (6.35). Controlling of our senses is a challenging job. The first step to gain clarity on any situation is developing a clear, calm and collected mind. This takes a lot of effort. One way is meditation, another is by distancing yourself from the situation – not physically but mentally.
